Baltic Sea Ghost Nets

Our partner removed 8.5 tonnes of ghost gear from the Baltic, plus 1.7 tonnes of other trash.

Lake Engure Nature Park Hay Bailer

In this first instance of funding non-project expenses, BaltCF supported the purchase of a new hay bailer for the management of the Lake Engure Nature Park in Latvia.

Åland Sea Map

ÅlandSeaMap has created 40 km² of new Marine Protected Areas, and will add 15 km² in the coming years.

Svencelė Bog

In this project, 100 ha of the coastal raised Svencelė bog in Lithuania were rewetted, and the size of the nature reserve was enlarged by 142 ha.

Our partner conducted an expedition and created action plans to prevent oil spills from a sunken tanker.

Woodland Key Habitats

This project did an inventory of Estonian Woodland Key Habitats and managed to have more than 91 km² put under protection.

Peat Restore: Restoring degraded peatlands in Słowiński National Park Poland

In this project, over 1300 ha of peatland in Poland’s Słowiński National Park have been rewetted.

Rewilding the Ina river for a cleaner Baltic Sea

This project restored a section of the Ina river in Poland to improve its self-cleaning capabilities.

The Polish part of this INTERREG project restored river habitats to reduce eutrophication and support migrating fish.

Our partner conducted policy work for an MPA covering the main breeding area of the Baltic harbour porpoise.

Salmon Parsęta: Protection of the Atlantic Salmon and the River Lamprey in the Special Area of Conservation of the Parsęta River Basinjekt

This project supported the Polish salmon population by creating new spawning grounds and releasing young fish.

Closed Loop Baltic  

Our partner piloted a closed loop system to circulate nutrients instead of discharging them to the Baltic Sea.

Strengthening the protection of Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout Wild Spawning in Northwest Poland

This project created 40 new spawning grounds for migrating fish, caught poachers and educated students.

Fresh Water Health Control Through Black Stork Perspective

This project did an inventory of Estonian freshwater courses and created a fish pass as a Pilot restauration measure.
