How BaltCF funds

Baltic Sea Conservation

BaltCF operates in all countries of the Baltic Sea catchment area, and we support activities contributing to our mission of achieving a functioning Baltic Sea ecosystem.

What we fund

Projects

The classic. We fund conservation and restoration projects that provide a clear benefit for the Baltic Sea ecosystem

Grant writing

We support you if you want to work on a grant application for a larger project.

Isolated expenses

Need equipment for activities that help the Baltic Sea? Or a specific add-on to improve an existing project? We fund one-off expenses even without a project mantle around them.

Litigation

We support legal action that helps the Baltic Sea and has a reasonable chance of success.

Loans

We support NGOs with zero-interest loans for projects funded by programs that do not advance any costs, but apply the reimbursement principle.

Capacity building

We fund participation of one of your members/employees in the Frankfurt Spring School, and help with capacity building within projects.

Commercial activities are also not eligible for grants; however, we can invest commercially in companies and commercial projects.

How to apply

Depending on the type of funding, BaltCF applications follow different procedures, which are described below.
