Planned Results What this project is trying to achieve: Development of adapted Sea Ranger training programmes in all three Baltic States. Establishment of at least one dedicated organisation for implementation in one of the Baltic States. Development of a blueprint for transferring the concept to the entire Baltic Sea Region

Baltic Sea Ghost Nets

Our partner removed 8.5 tonnes of ghost gear from the Baltic, plus 1.7 tonnes of other trash.

ÅlandSeaMap has created 40 km² of new Marine Protected Areas, and will add 15 km² in the coming years.

WaterTreatmentPark

In this project, the coastal municipality of Viimsi in Estonia reconstructs two ponds to retain nutrients and hazardous substances, which would otherwise flow into the Baltic Sea.

Svencelė Bog

In this project, 100 ha of the coastal raised Svencelė bog in Lithuania were rewetted, and the size of the nature reserve was enlarged by 142 ha.

Woodland Key Habitats

This project did an inventory of Estonian Woodland Key Habitats and managed to have more than 91 km² put under protection.

ImproRivHab

The Polish part of this INTERREG project restored river habitats to reduce eutrophication and support migrating fish.
